A friend of my brothers called on Monday to buy him a ticket as well! Here we go again shuffling around, e-mailing all the places to set up accommodation for another person. Sounds like good fun now, three Mexicans in Japan!
Yesterday I made the reservations for my Tokyo tours. The 3 days I’ll be staying in Tokyo I’ll be doing the typical tourist thing, carrying a big camera, and jumping on and off tour buses.
Out of nowhere my brother bought his ticket for japan as well. Meaning, I won’t be traveling alone. I really wouldn’t have mind traveling alone as I’ve done so before on short trips that I have taken to Downtown LA in the past. In reality though I’m glad I won’t be alone in such a foreign country. Only problem I had was the fact that I had to go shuffling around to change reservations for accommodation. Off I was sending e-mails like a crazy spammer trying to get everything set up. Luckily all the places I’ll be staying were flexible enough to change things around for me.
Here is a little thing I wrote for a video reply I did for Tkyosam on why you like Japan. It’s dumb and retarded. I’m also testing out w.bloggar, which I hope works out well.
"Why I like Japan, why I chose to go to Japan this spring.
A world of old eastern castles, temples, ninjas, godzilla, anime, manga, music, and food that makes your palette go wild. There are many things I love from Japan. Lets start from my early childhood; I was raised in the 80s, where a slew of imports from Japan came as regular Saturday morning cartoons. Moving on to my addiction, and leading reason to my geekdom the Nintendo in the 80s, and slowly evolving to better systems such as the Wii. My addiction to video games and manga grew as I got older and was able to get together more money to get the stuff, sometimes taking some sacrifices just to get what I wanted (let us not go there). With the introduction to some of the local music by a few friends online about 6 years ago came yet another or maybe a stronger drug to intake. Switching around from some J-pop artists to even what I might even call J-metal it just adds to the blurry years of my otaku lifestyle. I’m sorry parents for becoming such a junkie to this foreign culture. Its bad enough that I compare a lot of Mexican and American practices, but blending the Japanese culture makes things far more confusing. "
After researching, and trying to find the best deal for my trip, I have switched it all up to April instead. I’ll be spending about 10 days there. Leaving in about a month, I think I have almost all the things I need ready. I just purchased my backpack for the trip from amazon as well.. yeah I’m a hardcore amazon shopper. How much I’ve spent so far… I’d rather not go there.
Leaving in exactly a month from today makes it seem too far away. In any case there is a small problem with this picture. I have not yet learned really enough of the language to get by. Of course I have exactly a month to study, but with the type of work I do I really don’t feel like studying when I get out of work. Hopefully things will get better.
