World of Warcraft Latino!

We are just 3 days away from the July 25th release of the official World of Warcraft Latino American Servers. Unfortunately I won’t able to participate in this event seeing that I don’t have my account activated at the moment and probably won’t for another three weeks or so.

On a side note, I have gone through the Latino server forums and have noticed a lot of chaos going on about the release because only a select few US servers are going to have the option of being able to transfer their characters to the new server;

    List of eligible servers for free transfers:

  • Agamaggan
  • Andorhal
  • Burning Blade
  • Burning Legion
  • Hakkar
  • Kalecgos
  • Lightning’s Blade
  • Shadowmoon
  • Skullcrusher
  • Smolderthorn
  • Spinebreaker

I see it being a bit unfair as there are a lot of players in other servers whom I’ve met before that are from South/Central American countries. I personally would have liked to transfer my main Hunter onto the Latino servers. This would have helped me work on my spanish skills really well. I hope Blizzard comes to their senses and decide to give everyone an equal opportunity to transfer if they want to.

Note: I no longer use any of the features mentioned in this article

I got Gallery 2 working, hosting all my pictures locally instead of on Flickr. I tried installing the latest version of the WPG2 plugin for WordPress and embedding Gallery2 but for some reason I get a whole slew of crazy errors, so I’ve decided on playing around with the ImageBlock module/plugin for Gallery2 instead. So now when you look at my Photostream on the right hand side you’ll see images locally hosted and pulled randomly off of my Gallery2 install.

Photostream

This also includes the random World of Warcraft image that shows up underneath as well. It took me a couple of tries to get the Photostream to look similar to that of the FlickrRSS plugin that was originally set up, but with a bit of elbow grease we managed to get those thumbnails squared up the same way that the Flickr one did… And that is how I spent half my day..

You can now visit and peep all my pics here.

What realm? armory links..

0-10-2.gifA few days ago I got a message from a friend wondering what Realm (server) I play on WoW. I wound up sending links of my toons to the Armory. I then realized I hadn’t mentioned this info on my blog so here it goes;

Realm – Sentinels (RP)
*Lagrz – Hunter lvl 70
*Putasos – Paladin lvl 46
*Edwily – Hunter lvl 41 (first character I ever made, originally created on Kil’Jaeden server 2 years ago)

Realm – Demon Soul (PVP)
*Darkester – Priest lvl 37

Keep in mind that these are my main characters. I do happen to be an “Alt’aholic” where I tend to create various alts just to have an idea how a specific class works and if I like it I keep it. Therefore I do have various other low level toons, as well as a level 29 Hunter twink for pre-made battlegrounds. The twink toon is one that I use less often nowadays though it does help relieve some stress at times. In any case those are the more important toons that I have.

WoW Shopping list

0-10-3 Though its been a few days since my account canceled for WoW I have been considering various upgrades to my Hunter’s equipment. Seeing that I haven’t been able to get into running raids as I would like to I can always look forward to doing some general instances as well as heroics and farm for better gear. I’ve also thought of working up my profession skills to a maxed level. In any case here is a short list of items I am looking forward to getting as soon as I get back online (though some are quest reward items);

I also want to look into a weapons upgrades and trinkets;

bloodelf-male What I would love to do is maybe just get the full Beast Lord Armor set. Seeing that one of the set’s bonus is lowering the trap cool down it should make for easier chain trapping when doing some CC (crowd control) for the party. (Chain Trapping in a group Explained by BRK, Having Fun with Chain Trapping)

Worst case scenario I can always change my spec from BM (beast master) back into MM (marksmanship) and do a bunch of battlegrounds. I will have to try avoid doing the latter though.

Tanking, a whole new perspective of WoW

The group found in this picture is just a PUG (pick up group) I found in the LFG list.

In the past few weeks I have been heavily playing World of Warcraft. I decided to create a Protection Paladin to get a new perspective in the game. One that as a hunter would have never really seen. I have found myself a really good group of seasoned people whom I run instances with almost everyday. These guys know their role in the instance and play it perfectly. Though tanking with this group of elitists I must say that I give my respects to all the tanks out there as it is a bit harder than simply bashing your DPS spells or shots and watching your threat meter.

The group found in this picture are the best instance players I have encountered.

It is unfortunate that I am taking either a month break or longer from WoW to dedicate myself to a couple of projects and things at hand. Hopefully when I come back I’ll be able to take my amazing group into heroic dungeons and hopefully grow into a nice raid group to see some end game material.

Though I have been playing World of Warcraft on and off for nearly two and a half years I have never really had a chance to enjoy the other aspects of the game such as raiding, and group questing for epic items. It is sad to know that I have finally found myself a good group and not really have a chance to enjoy the other components of The Burning Crusade, because the new expansion is around the corner. I guess I’ll just have to do end game stuff for Wrath of the Lich King when it’s released.
