Double Move Out

Posted August 30th, 2008. Filed under Personal

I was expecting to move back to the San Fernando Valley this past weekend and so far I’m still here. Two days ago we recieved a call notifying us that they keys to our current house have to be turned in by the tuesday after labor day. Our apartment wont be ready according to management until the first weekend of September. Of course leaving us a gap in time, so now we have to move everything to a friends garage then everything one weekend later to our final destination, our apartment. Going through all of this I have learned to not buy big or heavy furniture, thats of course if you have a bunch of money burning in your pocket and willing to pay for a moving company to help you out. The less the better in my world. I’m hoping this change will help.

On a different note I found this nice little article on Digg on tips to help you transition to becoming a vegetarian. A transition of which I have managed to go through over a year ago but still very useful.

Going Green?

Posted August 27th, 2008. Filed under Personal

Due to the current situation that I’m stuck in where I’m moving out this following weekend, and the fact that we no longer have a washer and dryer, I decided to go green. Thats right, I hand washed and sun dried all of my clothes yesterday. In a way it actually felt good doing all the hand labor that the washer does for you. Well thats all for now.

Beast Lord Set

I’ve been doing some heavy heroic instance grinding almost every day trying to get badges for some of the new 2.4 badge gear. In this time I have successfully collected the full Beast Lord armor set, and a whole bunch of epic items. In this time I have been working on hard on trying to develop my chain trapping skills, and CC skills in general (yeah there is more to it than just freezing traps). Though I have been running Karazhan on a weekly basis, and collected a couple of epic item upgrades from there I still can’t see myself dropping two pieces of the beast lord set from my bags. The extra 5 seconds in cooldown for your traps is the best armor set bonus I have experienced yet the only thing better than this would be the item bonuses from the Rift Stalker armor set (yes the Demon Stalker set bonus is horrid). In any case, I would highly recommend any hunter to at least pursuit any 2 pieces of the Beast Lord set and be able to show off your amazing CC skills.

Hunter Macros I currently use.

Posted August 20th, 2008. Filed under World of Warcraft

Lately I’ve been trying to write macros for my hunter to make life a little easier. Going through the web and sort of picking out things from here and there I have managed to make a few macros to make things a step or two shorter.

Focus Target
/focus target

This I use in combination with Assist Focus and Pet Assist Focus on the Main Tank. If you in an instance or raid and are afraid of breaking Sheep or other CC, you use this macro first to get focus on your tank then you use the Assist Focus which will start using Auto shot on your tanks target, or Pet Assist Focus to send your pet out to your tanks target. Keep in mind that you only need to focus on your Tank once during the instance, irregardless of having a wipe or what not.

Assist Focus
/assist focus
/cast !Auto shot

Pet Assist Focus
/assist focus
/cast Hunter’s Mark(Rank 4)
/petattack

The Pet assist Focus can be useful in other situations as well. For example you are given the trust of Freeze Trapping a target what you do is after the initial pull you use this macro to have your pet start attacking while you freeze trap your target.

Distracting Shot
#showtooltip
/cast Distracting Shot(Rank 7)
/stopcasting

Using a Distracting Shot macro makes it easier for anyone who has auto shot go off automatically after using a Distracting Shot, when trying to pull a mob onto a Freezing Trap. This will help you avoid breaking your own traps by using the /Stopcasting command right after.

Feed Pet
/cast [nocombat] Feed Pet; [combat] Mend Pet
/use [pet:Bear/Boar/Wind Serpent, nocombat] Conjured Manna Biscuit; [pet:Cat/Ravager/Wolf, nocombat] Smoked Talbuk Venison

This Feed Pet macro is somewhat self explanatory. It checks to see if you are in combat, if you are it will Mend Pet, otherwise it will feed it a specific food accordingly by pet race. Currently I use a Wind Serpent on 25 man raids, like taking advantage of the free food a mage can conjure for you via a table or spell. On the other hand I use a Ravager for my instance, and heroic runs and like using the cheaper of the two high level vendor meats.

Self Bandage
/use [target=player] Heavy Netherweave Bandage

This is self explanatory, it will use a Heavy Netherweave Bandage on you.

I’m sure there are other useful macros available out there, such as shot rotation macros, and even for equipping specific gear for certain situations.

Japan ‘09?

A bunch of people have asked me if I’m going back to Japan next year. My answer is always a bit mixed mainly because I’m still not sure what changes may come especially after moving out from Palmdale. I’m hoping to go back next year but if its not possible I’ll definitely be going to Seattle to visit some friends there. In any case this fishy video made me want to visit Japan again.
