I’ve finally found a little bit of time to take my hunter out to Northrend and level up. The quests seem fairly easy and at most times solo’able with a hunter and a gorilla pet. I really enjoy what Blizzard has put on the table with this expansion. It is unfortunate to mention that my account has expired and won’t be updating until maybe late December or early January. I feel like it’s time for me to start reading a little more and be less distracted to get certain goals done.
Somehow after all the preaching of me quitting WoW for a few months to take a break, and read a couple of books that have been sitting around on my bookshelf, I some how ended up owning a copy of Wrath of the Lich King and enjoying the new Death Knight class. On the friday after the release I went with my little brother Best Buy so that he could purchase his copy of Burning Crusades. While we were there I came across the shelf that had various copies of WotLK sitting around. It was a bad idea to carry the $20 Rewards Zone Coupon with me. I was sold into buying the new expansion.
Though I am not familiar with the class I find myself enjoying it a whole lot. From the quest line to getting rotten tomatoes thrown at me while walking into Ogrimmar. As always I chose the Blood Elf race, as I’ve been fond of since the release of Burning Crusades (yes I have played other races before*original toon*).
In all honesty I’m currently far more interested in leveling my DK over my hunter. Maybe my decision will change later but it’s where I’m standing at the moment.
All in all good luck and good gaming in Northrend.

Ever since the release of 3.0.2 there has been a whole bunch of people “pugging” Vanilla and Burning Crusade raid content on a daily basis on the Sentinels server. I am guilty of doing the same as I’ve done Onyxias Lair, AQ40, and some others. It also amazes me that people are on a crazy badge of justice collection spree, knowingly that their gear will be phased out in less than a week. In a sense it is great to see this because a whole lot of people who otherwise wouldn’t have ever seen the old or current high end content are actually given a chance to experience it. People are being a little more social, and united for these causes. Heck I’ve even see attempts at the opposing faction leaders. It’s great, it has brought life back into the game. Though its unfortunate I won’t be purchasing the expansion at release I am looking forward to more endless questing and a never ending To-Do list of achievements to complete.
I noticed a whole bunch of Hunters not being able to produce as much damage as they should be doing while in raids or instances. Though it really is not as much needed right now as it may be during the Wrath release, I feel like they should be practicing for the next-gen raid content. So far I’ve been able to out DPS everyone in my group (including those with the 51 point BM specs), and it’s not really due to the fact that I have a better weapon or what not, because some are better geared than me. It’s just the use of their spec and skills. I also noticed a whole bunch of hunters running out of mana midway through raid boss fights like with Nightbane in Karazhan or any of the ZA bosses. My quick fix to this has been using my haste drums or using rapid fire in combination with Aspect of the Viper. Of course you can always tweak your spec a little to also gain mana by using the Invigoration, Cobra Strikes combination.
In any case here are two different specs that I’ve been experimenting with for current pre-wrath raiding. I’m sure you’ll want to respec when Wrath is out to a more leveling spec.
Current Spec , Raiding Spec (needs more testing)

Though the new patch is out and looking amazing, I must say that I am slowly losing interest in the game more and more. Last night we had a fairly nice Karazhan run, one shot everything in the instance. Though it was fun and simple, I just miss the challenge behind the game. Being able to run Heroic MgT in under 30 mins, and watching people in all green gear clear through heroics and raids just doesn’t work well for me. I spent so much time gearing up and now that I’m at a point where I can run some T6 content with ease I don’t really find it as big of a deal. It may just be because most gear will be nerfed once you reach Northrend, so it is in a sense a wasted effort.
In any case I found a neat web app for those who are hardcore into raid stats. It’s WoW Web Stats, a web app that uploads your battle log and parses it into some nice stats. It has been recently updated to support 3.0+ and fairly neat for those numbers guys like myself.
